Sierra Energy Seeks Entry-Level Sales Engineer Development Manager

Sierra Energy, a clean-tech start-up located in Davis, CA, is seeking a full-time, entry-level Sales Engineer to add to its highly motivated, forward-thinking team.
With national attention from the New York Times and contracts with the Department of Defense and the California Energy Commission, Sierra Energy is commercializing a revolutionary gasification technology for the conversion of different waste material types into a clean intermediate syngas that can be converted into liquid fuels, hydrogen, electricity and chemicals. The team is focused on designing distributed small-scale standardized platforms that can be readily-deployed to a number of project locations within a very short time frame.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, growing, and qualifying the rapidly growing pipeline of sales opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams.
- Develop and maintain customer relations management (CRM) database from expressions of interest, referrals, web inquiries, email and networking; including data entry and data management.
- Will be point of contact (POC) for all external inquiries into the technology and product offering. Tasks may include:
- Informing customers how they can work with company and answering related questions.
- Informing customers of general details behind technology and answering related questions.
- Utilizing a consistent contact process via phone and email to follow-up, nurture and qualify leads/contacts.
- Prospect, educate, and qualify leads to create sales-ready opportunities.
- Distribute information materials provided by marketing and participate in related promotional activities.
- Demonstrate ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers.
- Assisting in the implementation of marketing plans as needed.
- Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.
- Other miscellaneous research tasks and technical analysis.
Minimum Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong ability to learn a new technology and ramp up quickly.
- Positive and energetic phone skills as well as excellent listening and note-taking skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented and able to follow specific instructions.
- Technical/engineering background is a significant plus.
- Nominal base salary based on experience.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in client relations, sales, or administration industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
- Technical sales background.
